Responding to a call made by the World Health Organization (WHO), a company called Omron has created a solar powered blood pressure measuring device that can be functional even in the absence of proper power or fully trained medical personnel. The two main points are those — easy to use and operable almost anywhere. This device promises to be a blessing for health workers everywhere. The existing measures actually use no power at all but they do use mercury. So they are being phased out for environmental reasons. Also, they are relatively harder to master and read.

Suntech To Supply 9.43MW More Solar Panels To Thailand

Suntech Power Holding Co. [NYSE: STP] has signed yet another deal with the authorities at Thailand to supply some more solar panels to a new plant. As a result they will be supplying about 9.43MW worth of panels to the installation. The plan in question here is one that is owned Bangchak Petrolem and is scheduled to be grid connectable by the end of next year. One functioning, this plant should provide about 44MW of power.

Gulf City Solar Sells Solar Power Kit For Golf Carts

A Bonita Springs (Florida, US) company called Gulf City Solar is selling a solar power kit for golf carts. It is a company that normally sells portable solar powered products and their Golf cart initiative is backed by their partnership with Lakeland-based Golf Ventures. The latter supplies golf-clubs and other such equipment that is related to the sport.
