Cars driven by solar energy

Imagine driving 60 miles per hour on a freeway without paying a single cent for a fuel. Sounds like a dream – not really. It looks like we might be getting to the point where it may become a reality. During recent demonstration at the Paris Motor Show 2010 Helios IV car – completely driven by solar energy was able to reach 68.3 mile per hour purely on solar energy.
Of course it is just a single seater and it is not a production yet. But it is great proof of concept that solar energy is getting to the point where it may become feasible for auto companies to consider adding it to the production cars in some way or another.
