Finsbury Park is a diverse London suburb situated a few kilometres north of the city centre. “He has been taken to hospital, and will be taken into custody once discharged”, the Metropolitan Police said in a statement.

The Finsbury Park mosque has been associated with radical Islamist ideology in the past, but its image changed after it was shut down and reopened under a new management. The Scotland Yard proclaimed that the alleged terrorist driver had been arrested.
“Over the past weeks and months, Muslims have endured many incidents of Islamophobia, and this is the most violent manifestation to date”.
“During the night, ordinary British citizens were set upon while they were going about their lives, completing their night worship”, he said.

“I think at least eight or 10 people got injured“.
The driver also had a knife but no one sustained knife injuries, according to police.

British Prime Minister Theresa May said her thoughts were with the victims of “this bad incident”.
“We are working closely with other members of the emergency services at the scene”. Earlier this year, a man plowed into pedestrians on Westminster Bridge, killing four people before stabbing a police officer outside Parliament. “My prayers are with the victims and their families”.
The incident comes towards the end of Ramadan, the holiest time of year for Muslims. The site of the incident is close to another mosque near the Finsbury Park on the same road.
“An advance trauma team from Londons Air Ambulance has also been dispatched by vehicle”, the statement said.
She is now scheduled to chair an emergency response meeting on Monday. One person has been arrested.
