Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain is reportedly “deeply frustrated” with Arsenal over their delay in offering the Englishman a new contract, and the club’s lack of movement could see the midfielder leave the Emirates Stadium in this summer’s transfer window.
The 23-year-old was told that he could expect a quick conclusion regarding his new deal with Arsenal eager to secure their attacker’s future.
The England global is eager to resolve his future and was expecting the Gunners to begin talks quickly.
The report goes on to say that there are a few of our big Premier League rivals keen to snap up the player so it seems pretty odd that Arsenal and Wenger are giving him any reason to consider whether it might be better to move on.
Almost a month has passed since the end of the season as Arsenal won the FA Cup, but formal talks are yet to start. Oxlade-Chamberlain’s contract has just 12 months remaining, but he is hoping to take a risk by switching positions next year in order to earn a new contract.
Liverpool are looking for more depth in their attacking options and Oxlade-Chamberlain also has the kind of versatility that could make him a very attractive option to Jurgen Klopp.
Liverpool are interested and, with Oxlade-Chamberlain having finished his Arsenal season strongly in the wing-back position, he still regards central midfield as his ideal future role.
Meanwhile, Jack Wilshere, Kieran Gibbs and Wojciech Szczesny only have a year left in north London too.
