At the hearing for Attorney General Jeff Sessions Tuesday afternoon, Harris was asking about a Department of Justice policy Sessions repeatedly referred to when Sen.
Attorney General Jeff Sessions became flustered under questioning from Democratic Sen. John McCain of Arizona and admonished by the chairman of the committee. Senator, let him answer. Unfortunately, as we saw in a similar hearing this time last week, Harris was unable to fully exercise her Senatorial privilege thanks to a vein of disrespect from both Sessions and the Republican Senators in the room. Kamala Harris (D-CA) frequently interrupted Sessions as he meandered off the topic she asked about.
She then proceeded to shoot back-to-back questions at Sessions, asking if he had communicated with any Russian officials or businessmen during the 2016 election cycle.
“From my, I would say objective perspective”, Miller says, disregarding the definition of objectivity, “it didn’t seem like there was any effort to try to get to a real question or get to the bottom of things”.
HARRIS: I do want you to be honest.
“Is that policy in writing somewhere?” she asked.
“If I don’t qualify, it you’ll accuse me of lying so I need to be correct as best as I can”.
“If any brief interaction occurred in passing with the Russian ambassador during that reception, I do not remember it”, Sessions said. The Attorney General wanted his hearing to be public, but it became clear nearly immediately that a public hearing did not necessarily mean that the public would be getting any answers at all.
Ultimately, Senate Intelligence Committee Chair Richard Burr (R-North Carolina) cut Harris’ line of questioning off abruptly, for the second time in a week.
If only this tweet would get old, but nope still relevant because the white dudes keep interrupting Senator Kamala Harris.
