Marco Verratti tells Barcelona he wants to leave PSG this summer

Marco Verratti has posed with Catalonian newspaper Mundo Deportivo, in another sign that the Paris Saint-Germain midfielder wants to join Barcelona.

Joan Vehils of Catalan newspaper Sport wrote Verratti and his representative, Donato Di Campli, spoke with Blaugrana director Javier Bordas for more than 30 minutes, with a summer transfer the likely topic of discussion.

Verratti was linked with a move away from PSG throughout the 2016-17 campaign and those reports have intensified after the French capital club were dethroned by Monaco in Ligue 1.

The news emerges days after it was reported Verratti has already told PSG of his intent to leave the Parc des Princes this summer, and Vehils said both Verratti and Di Campli are “putting pressure on PSG to sell”.

Marco Verratti and his agent dined with Barcelona star Lionel Messi as speculation increased over the Italian moving to the Camp Nou.

But Juve boss Allegri thinks Verratti – whose apparent dinner with Barca star Lionel Messi at the island’s Restaurant Lio has been denied by sources close to the Argentina worldwide – will ultimately remain at PSG.

“It’s very complicated [to leave], but we have expressed our ideas to PSG”, he said.

‘It’s nothing to do with Barcelona, it’s about projects. I think I represent a champion and clearly I have questions.

Antonio Conte is keen on bringing Verratti to Chelsea.

Italy worldwide midfielder Verratti is widely expected to leave Paris Saint-Germain this summer, with the Nou Camp said to be his favoured destination.
