Trump accuses Obama of Russian Federation meddling claim inaction

On Saturday morning, U.S. President Donald Trump appeared to respond on Twitter to a report which said Barack Obama was aware of Russian meddling in the 2016 election.

On Friday, The Washington Post reported that Obama knew about Russia’s electronic hacking as early as August.

“With 4 months looking at Russian Federation under a magnifying glass, they have zero “tapes” of T people colluding”, Trump said. That came on October 7.

Trump has not met Putin since being elected past year, despite his claim that he could meet the Russian leader even before being inaugurated. The administration, he said, didn’t want to be seen tipping the scales for Clinton or supporting Trump’s claim the election would be “rigged”. It definitely gave the Russians cover in its attempt to weaken our electoral system.

The president followed up shortly after: “Obama Administration official said they “choked” when it came to acting on Russian meddling of election”. “I feel like we sort of choked”.

A key congress committee is investigating allegations that Russian Federation and Donald Trump’s campaign team collaborated to influence the 2016 U.S. election – claims the White House and Putin have repeatedly denied. Clinton was way ahead in the polls.

The bill passed with overwhelming bipartisan support, but Trump administration officials have been working to weaken the House version.

“It is the hardest thing about my entire time in government to defend”, a former senior Obama administration told the Post. The Post, citing unnamed US officials, said Obama also authorized a covert hacking program that involved the National Security Agency, the CIA, and the US Cyber Command.

President Putin has repeatedly denied any Russian interference into the presidential election. Yet, as the president’s critics have pointed out, his tweets represent a tacit admission, for the first time, that Russian Federation did attempt to undermine Mrs. Clinton through hacking and the dissemination of fake news on social media.

It’s no surprise that now that the pressure is on, Trump is looking to point fingers in any direction, especially towards his favorite scapegoat – Obama. Possibly. But Obama’s a savvy, artful politician. “They own Obama Care!”

The president has always been publicly skeptical of the intelligence agency assessment that Russian Federation was involved in leaking embarrassing emails from Democratic email systems – let alone even more sinister allegations that Russian Federation hacked into local election systems in 21 states.

Obama’s decision should have been easy – put democracy first no matter the fallout.
