President Trump confirmed Friday that he’s being investigated for firing James Comey as Federal Bureau of Investigation director, and appeared to attack Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein, who advised the president that the the Federal Bureau of Investigation was unlikely to regain the trust of Americans and of Congress with Comey leading the agency.
Mr Comey testified that Mr Trump directed him in February to drop an FBI investigation into former national security adviser Michael Flynn relating to the Russian Federation matter.
Trump fired Comey last month, saying “this Russian Federation thing” was on his mind when he made the decision to oust the nation’s top law enforcement official while Comey was leading the FBI’s probe into Russia’s meddling. But regardless of recommendation, I was going to fire Comey. “The president’s response was as it related to the Washington Post report“. This week, Rosenstein assured members of Congress he would not remove Mueller – except for good cause.
When Wallace pointed out that Sekulow had appeared to agree in his answer that the president is under investigation, the lawyer grew flustered.
Sekulow: “We’ve received no notice of investigation”.
Taking to Twitter on Sunday while spending the weekend at the Camp David presidential retreat, Trump again referenced the “distraction of the Witch Hunt“.
Speaking on CBS’s Face the Nation, he said: “The fact of the matter is the president has not been and is not under investigation“.

The FBI and two congressional panels are investigating whether the Trump campaign or presidential transition team colluded with Russian Federation during or after the 2016 White House race.
Sekulow said Trump “is not and has not been under investigation”.

He Tweeted in May, just days before firing Mr. Comey, that he “was the best thing that ever happened to Hillary Clinton”, ending the Tweet calling him “the phony”.
