Trump blasts CNN after it retracts story

The retracted story had claimed that Senate investigators were looking at the activities of the $10 billion Russian investment fund in connection to Scaramucci, who served on the executive committee of Trump’s transition team.

An internal CNN probe reportedly found normal editorial processes weren’t followed in the stories editing and publication.

Eric Lichtblau, who just joined CNN three months ago as an editor; and Lex Haris, a CNN veteran who has headed CNN Investigates since January, all left the company Monday.

This morning President Donald Trump was on a rampage, attacking CNN for publishing “FAKE NEWS”.

CNN executives, from CNN Worldwide President Jeff Zucker on down, believe they can not get stories wrong given Trump’s willingness to attack the network. The resignations were prompted by a story published by CNN alleging ties between a member of Trump’s transition team and Russian Federation.

Trump tweeted that “they caught Fake News CNN cold”.

However, the President was not content with only having a go at CNN and soon pulled in the New York Times and the Washington Post into his tweetstorm.

US President #Donald Trump has been involved in a feud with plenty of media organizations over the past year or so and one of his most well-known targets is #CNN. Scaramucci contacted CNN executives to dispute the story and said he was considering legal action, according to a person familiar with his conversations who spoke on condition of anonymity.

The “Morning Joe” host defended CNN employees on Twitter, saying they “have every reason to take great pride in their work”. And so I think the president is probably right to say, like, ‘Look, you are witch hunting me.

Sanders lauded the video, which apparently shows John Bonifield, a CNN health editor, complaining about the network’s coverage of the Trump campaign’s relationship with Russian Federation. The story was retracted and the journalists resigned today. CNN officially retracted the story June 23 and issued a formal apology to Anthony Scaramucci, the subject of the story. Trump tweeted. “What about the failing @nytimes & @washingtonpost?“.

O’Keefe’s secret videos only served to reinvigorate the anti-CNN storylines already across conservative media, giving life to more stories about CNN being “fake news”. “They are all Fake News!”

The CNN story was about a supposed investigation into a pre-inaugural meeting between a Trump associate and the head of a Russian investment fund.
